I shoot a variety of 35mm, medium format, and large format (4x5), depending on the requirements of the project. My preference, however, leans toward medium and large format simply because of the higher image quality. Professionally, most of my photographic focus is on commercial work, particularly product photography for computer-related industries. Fashion, glamour, travel and figure/fine-art projects provide an artistic balance.
I learned much of basics of photography from a man I consider to be a master while I was stationed in Germany in the 1960s. Books, experimentation, studying the work of the masters, and the exchange of ideas with other photographers over the years has at least partially filled in various blanks. Like most photographers, however, I'm constantly motivated to learn more.
Although I earn most of my living at other endeavors, photography is the passion in my life, and provides much of the motivation and inspiration to learn more, do better, and achieve. I am particularly pleased when I can help others along the way.
Rates
I prefer to highly customize my services to the specific needs of the client, so publishing a detailed rate card is not really possible. But, I'm happy to provide clients with a detailed quotation on a project after discussing the requirements and how the results of the work might be leveraged by the client in the future. While I don't work "cheap", my rates are strongly competitive, and I make every effort to take the client's situation into consideration. Long-term business relationships are more important to me than short-term profits.
